Filter Package #1

The FIL1 is designed to be used with a vaginal speculum (not included) in OB/GYN laser or electrosurgical procedures.

This filter pack consists of the viral filter, a 4' long section of 22 mm inner diameter (ID) hose which contains the odor removing charcoal, a reducer fitting, and a 4' long section of 5/16" ID tubing.

Viral filters have a longevity of 30 minutes of smoke suction (about 1 month of use), while charcoal tubing has a longevity of 60 minutes of odor control (about 2 months of use).

Adapter tubing can be attached to the end of the 5/16" tubing to reduce it to 1/4" ID to fit other vaginal speculums with non-tapered suction tubes.

Filter Package #2

The FIL2 is used with other procedures not using a vaginal speculum. This includes all epidermal laser or electrosurgical procedures

This pack consists of the viral filter and 6' long section of 22 mm ID hose that contains the odor removing charcoal.

Viral filters have a longevity of 30 minutes of smoke suction (about 1 month of use), while charcoal tubing has a longevity of 60 minutes of odor control (about 2 months of use).

It is very important to note that the odor removing capability of the filter will degrade with time, BUT the actual particulate removing capability will not degrade during the rated time.

The presence of odors, while greatly reduced as compared to not using an evacuator, will not indicate the presence of the particulate.

The new Odor Filter Cartridge Pack (listed below) can be used in place of the FIL2 for better odor reduction.

Filter Package #3

The FIL3 is used in non-smoke generating procedures such as Facial Sculpting/Wrinkle Removal. Podiatrists, for example, would use this pack when using their nail de-burring or filing equipment to contain the dust created.

The Aluminum Wand works well in those situations. This would also be the pack for most dental procedures. Standard sterile disposable wands for the dental procedures are available from dental supply houses.

This pack consists of the viral filter and 6' long section of 22 mm ID hose. As a dust filter, the filter will last approximately 30 minutes, after which time it should be changed. It can also be changed when suction decreases to a point at which it is not sufficient.

Odor Filter Cartridge

Our Odor Filter Cartridge is designed for procedures when additional odor reduction is needed.

Our Odor Filter Starter Packs are available with or without a wand and consist of an odor filter cartridge along with a 6' hose to attach the filter.  Additional replacement filter cartridges may be purchased and used with the 6' hose from the starter pack.

Viral Filter

This filter is a viral filter only.  It is 'worst case' rated at 99.999% at 0.2 microns, but data proves that they are just as effective at .02 microns. In addition, the filter is hydrophobic. This means that the filter provides a barrier to water and airborne moisture.

Efficiency was determined by using a monodispersed aerosol of the bacteriophage MS-2, which is reported as being a .02 micron polyhedral virus in a publication by W. Hayes entitled The Genetics of Bacteria and their Viruses: Studies in Basic Genetics and Molecular Biology.

Based upon this information, you can clearly see that the filter compares very favorably to others that claim high efficiencies at .1 or .01 microns.

Technical analysis of particulate dynamics will show that we could rate our Filter Pack as 99.999% at .01 micron or smaller if we wanted, but we prefer to indicate the rating at 0.2 microns, because particles in the .2 to .3 micron range tend to be the most difficult to filter, and this represents the truest measure of the filters performance.
